Knowing God's will for our lives is very important. Jesus says that whosoever does the will of the Father are His brothers and sisters(Matthew 12:50) In another place, He says, only those who do the will of the Father in Heaven will be allowed to enter into the Kingdom of God ( Matthew 7:21).
There are two types of will of God. A general will concerning the entire human race, and a will for each individual believer.
The will for the entire human race is to be sanctified and be conformed to the Image of God.
1 Thessalonians 4:3
For this is the will of God, your sanctification.
